As appropriate, each activity of the company’s operation associated with significant hazards, environmental aspects and risks are identified with control procedures necessary to manage environment impacts and OH&S risks. This includes management of change. Adequate controls are in place either through engineering, established procedures or work practices to ensure work is performed consistent with established policy, objectives and targets; and to reduce risks to personnel (employees, contractors and visitors) and the environment wherever possible. These operations and activities associated with the identified significant environmental aspects and risks are defined in the “Environmental Aspect and Impact” and “Master List of Significant Risks”. Documented procedures and operating criteria are maintained to respectively cover situations and define the operating criteria where their absence could lead to deviations from OH&S; the mechanisms for hazard and risk identification, assessment; and management and control as well as evaluation of the effectiveness of the control measures. Health, safety and environmental requirements are communicated to suppliers through requests for proposals where required. Risks to suppliers and contractors providing goods and/or services related to significant environmental aspects, health and safety hazards may be communicated via the distribution of pertinent documents. They may also be included in health, safety and environmental training sessions or inductions that relate to their services. All necessary capabilities and support mechanisms are implemented to achieve the objectives and targets of the company.
